plus suit fee, activity fee, admin fee; you also need organize some events for kids with more spending since all kids are from
"rich" family
you are seeing 15k for elementary and 20k for middle school/high school
paying this much tuition and expense, i think it is ok. but the kids are still like dummy even you enroll him/her into the private.

蛤蟆林的学校私立很多，因为房子新，房子贵，公立学区比较差，上面我给的学校大多数都在 蛤蟆林区。因为有钱的美国人相对较多，另外当时那里地比较便宜。 喊得神1997年建成以后地比较贵了，私立盖在那里不划算，蛤蟆林2001以后才开始发展，地便宜好多。
喊得神的学校私立我只知道一个挑战者，公立本地最好的小学： 玩得鹁鸽和推球狼，初中：鲍勃米勒 高中：科罗纳多 都在喊得神区。我个人猜测 喊得神区的人都比较Middle Class，大家都是小康家庭，另外摩门的人多，大家花在孩子的时间上多一些，没有像蛤蟆林的富人一样都在忙着赚钱，所以公立就好一点。另外好多公立学校的老师都在喊得神的区住。
不过实话实说，以一个理工科的眼睛来看，无论拉斯维加斯哪个学校培养出来的学生都是一样的不堪入目。。。
大多数我认识的中国人尤其是高知(父母都是PHD或者硕士的非蓝领)都是小时候送公立，高中送magnet （都比较穷，没什么钱，充分体现学历越高，工资越低的公理定律）. 小孩去处还都不错，什么caltech,princeton，有几个也去了yale.mit, 哈佛的我还没听说。其他的什么ucla, uc berkerly....那就是太普通了。
不过说实话，我个人感觉这些所谓去了名校的小孩，还真不一定将来有这些从小帮父母打工经营餐饮等等在本地或者周围念个大学的小娃娃有出息。当然我肯定不会在朋友面前这么说了。知识分子么，都喜欢自己往自己脸上贴金，说小孩儿么都是要培养成人才，要综合素质，要会做人，不求他们多富裕，但是一定要有修养有知识，做个对社会有用的人，然后小孩选专业都是生物，计算机，商科。。。。找工作的时候都往投行和律师医生奔，这时候美其名曰说要实现自我价值。这个价值其实干啥都能体现出来。 反正知识分子就是舆论之官， 官字两个口，咋说都是他有理。我勉强作为一个知识分子，羞于与这一小撮萎缩的知识分子为伍。一个人的自我价值体现是看你创造了什么社会价值，归根结底是你赚了多少钱，养活了多少人，你是phd，你是教授，你可以从精神层面上鄙视一切土豪，但是每天下来，你也要吃喝拉撒睡。你也要给你自己老婆儿子创造吃喝拉撒睡和你的理想的崇高价值外的剩余价值。
说了这么多，中心思想就是不用太在乎什么公立，私立，培养的小孩儿都差不多，主要还是靠父母自己，你只要肯花时间，HomeSchool都行，美国基础教育差的无底限。没有家长平时关心努力，啥学校都没用。。。。。 谢谢你的回复，辛苦啦！谢谢！ move to Miami, Miami has great public and private schools with few chinese students, so less competition.
